Roberta Ilene Gwin, age 76, of New Castle, PA, passed away the early morning of Oct. 1, 2026, at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born May 25, 1950, in Elyria, OH, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Gwin and Ruth (Bauder) Gwin Hoover.

Roberta worked at First Federal Savings and Loan, and Homestead Oak, working as an office manager, for several years. She then went on to work as a bookkeeper for Morrone’s Auto Body, until her retirement. Roberta was an avid animal lover and enjoyed the times she spent with her friends. She was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include one sister, Patty (Louis) Zona of New Castle, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Roberta was preceded in death by one brother, James Gwin, sister-in-law Janice Gwin, one nephew, Richard Gwin, and stepfather, Lawrence O. Hoover.

A private memorial service will be held at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
