Obituary

Rodney A. Mumford, 47, of Grove City, PA., passed away the morning of July 23, 2015 at his parents residence in Slippery Rock, PA. Born September 4, 1967 in New Castle, he was a son of Terry and Kathy Lehman Mumford. He attended Laurel High School and graduated from Vo-Tech in 1985. He then attended the New Castle School of Trades. Rodney was self-employed as a fabricator and machinist. He was the owner of Youngstown Pro-Chassie Cycle in Youngstown and Pro-Chassie Racing in Grove City. Among his many interests were motorcycles, motorcycle racing, and ATV's. Most of all he loved spending time with his children,grandchildren, and Dobermans. He was a member of the NHRA, NIRA, and Drag Racing Clubs. He was also involved in Poker Runs. In addition to his parents, Rodney is survived by two daughters, Kara Marie Mumford of Campbell, OH, and Porsha Rae Mumford of Stoneboro, PA.; 3 grandchildren, Morgan, Mikey, and Mason; one niece, Stephanie Mumford; one nephew, Jake Mumford; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by one brother, Douglas Mumford. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road. Motorcycles are welcome but helmets are required. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Yergan officiating. Burial will be at the Castle View Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mahoning County Humane Society, 4140 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
