Roger Carroll Eddy, age 89, of New Castle, PA, passed away the morning of May 14, 2023, at the Haven Convalescent Home.

Born July 30, 1933, in Fairmont, WV, he was the son of the late Thomas H. and Mary E. (Crawford) Eddy.

After serving in the US Army National Guard, Roger attended Fairmont State College where he studied engineering and developed his passion for the plastics industry. Roger was a devoted Plastics Engineer throughout his life, owning numerous manufacturing plants in the New Castle area such as Double R Enterprises, Marshall Manufacturing, Shenango Enterprises and Pak Industries. Roger held numerous patents for his inventions such as snap caps, anti-lock pool floats and wave eaters for the Olympics. He was also on the design team for the original Peter Pan's Magic Flight ride at Disneyland and developed manufacturing methods and processes for toys by Little Tikes and Mattel. Roger enjoyed telling jokes, spending time with his family, the daily New York Times crossword and scratch-off tickets.

Roger is survived by his wife of 33 years, Katherine (Snyder) Eddy, as well as nine daughters, Delandra Navarro, Tammy (Craig Hitchens) Eddy, Tonya (Ed Manley) LeMasters, Nadine (Jim) Wilson, Kyree (Pat) Antonio, Maureen (Mark) Chandler, Melissa (Michael) Smith, Brita (Jeramy) Ryan, Courtney (Daniel) Pauline; one son Dr. Chad (Megan Tennant) Snyder; two adopted daughters, Ali Jo Coates, and Destinee Coates; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his prior wife, Karen (Marshall) Eddy, his brother, Thomas Eddy, Jr., and his sister, Karen Spragg.

Visitation will be held on June 16, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm with a memorial service immediately following at New Life Baptist Church, 3414 PA-208, New Wilmington, PA 16142, with Pastor Warren Sullivan officiating and the New Castle Area Honor Guard performing Military Rites.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the New Castle Area Honor Guard at 134 N. Jefferson St., New Castle, PA 16101.
