Roger Allen Houk, age 78, of Neshannock Twp., passed away the afternoon of Feb. 28, 2024, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Born April 28, 1945, in New Castle, Pa., he was the son of the late James G. and Almira Morgan Houk.

On July 1, 1972, he married his wife of 51 years, Karen (Fisher) Houk, who survives at home.

Roger was a Shenango High School graduate, class of 1963. He studied at the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Houk proudly served our country in the United States Naval Reserves on the USS Holder as a Fire Control Technician during the Vietnam era. Roger was employed as a Professional Land Surveyor for Penn Power/Ohio Edison until his retirement. He was also the owner of Roger A. Houk Professional Surveyor. Mr. Houk served as Worshipful Master of the Lodge of the Craft Westminster #433 and was a member of the PA Land Surveyors. Roger was the Former Special Olympics Lawrence County Manager. He was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Erica E. Houk of New Castle, PA; and three grandchildren, Rebekah L. Houk, Benjamin A. Houk and Georgia E. Houk.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Johnelle M. Houk; 3 brothers and 4 sisters, and his favorite nephew, James G. Houk.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-6 pm. An Honor Guard and Masonic service will take place immediately following at 6:00 pm.
