Rollin Rufus Wells, 92, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord the evening of October 27, 2012, at his residence. Rollin was born on December 3, 1919, in Iowa, to the late Ellsworth and Mary Larson Wells.He married Miami E. Booth on August 29, 1944. Mr. Wells served his country in the US Navy during WWII and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Rollin was a master plumber with TR Johnson & Sons Plumbing & Heating in Huntington, WV. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, woodworking, was a member of the American Legion and a very active member of the Grace Gospel Church in Huntington, as a chairman of the church board and serving on several committees. Mr. Wells and his wife joined the church family at First Baptist Church once they moved to New Castle. In addition to his wife, Rollin is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael F. and Susan Wells of New Castle; a son-in-law, George (Skip) Hipple of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; one brother, Russell Wells of West Chester, PA; one sister, Irene Crews of Union, MI; two granddaughters and their husbands, Jenny and Mark Bolinger and Samantha and Mike Blundo; two grandsons and their wives, Brian and Julie Hipple and Stephen and Canada Hipple; and four great grandchildren, Cameron Bolinger, Sophia Blundo, Avery Brown and Hannah Hipple. He was preceded in passing by his parents; two daughters, Marie A. Wells and Patricia J. Hipple; and several brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Michael Wells will officiate.
