Ronald Lewis Blews, 70, of New Castle, passed away February 5, 2015 at his residence.
Born May 22, 1944 in New Castle, he was a son of Walter and Mary Gross Blews.
Ron was a graduate of Union High School and served in the U.S. Navy.
He was employed as a machinist with R.L. Best and attended Church of Genesis.
Ron was a firearm enthusiast who enjoyed hunting. He also had an interest in motorcycles and loved attending weekly auctions.
He is survived by his former wife, Joanne Klabon; two brothers Larry G. (Nancy) Blews of New Castle and Walter L. Blews and his companion Jeanne Tancos of Girard, Ohio; 4 nephews, Craig Blews and long time companion Kelley Burkhouse, Stephen (Meagan) Blews, Jeffrey (Aubrey) Blews, Scott (Monica) Blews; 1 niece, Amy (Tony) Fiore; 5 great-nephews, Stephen Blews, Jr., Ben Blews, Aaron Blews, Brian Fiore and Aden Fiore; and 2 great-nieces, Bethany Blews, Mia Blews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Sara Blews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Ronald's nephew, Rev. Stephen Blews, officiating.
Burial will be in Carpenter Cemetery in Mercer.
