Ronald W. Crowe, 69, of Slippery Rock, PA, passed away the morning of December 29, 2013 at Grove City Medical Center. Born July 24, 1944 in New Castle, he was a son of William H. and Erma McFarland Crowe. He is survived by his wife, Sandra J. Heim Crowe, whom he married November 21, 1969. Ronald was a 1963 graduate of Laurel High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war period with the Military Police as an SP4. Ronald was an independent truck driver for over 22 years, operating his own business. He then was a truck driver for John Brown Trucking, and most recently, Forbes Excavating. Among his many interest were hunting, football, taking care of his lawn and caring for his dogs. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates. In addition to his mother Erma of Slippery Rock, and his wife Sandra, he is survived by a daughter, Melanie Damron; two brothers, Paul Crowe of Hamburg, NY and Russell (Sharon) Crowe of Royal Center, IN; two granddaughters; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father and one daughter, Kathleen Crowe. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at 3:00 at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev.John Yergan. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
