Ronald M. Gibson, 87, of 2908 Cornell Avenue, passed away the evening of March 9, 2012 at Butler Memorial Hospital.Born August 5, 1924 in West Middlesex, Pa., he was a son of Harry V. and Delma Mayrs Gibson. He married the former Gladys L. Moore July 5, 1943. They were together for 59 years until her passing on July 9, 2002.He was a graduate of Shenango High School and served with the National Guard.Ron was employed as an inspector and quality control with Cooper Bessemer for 24 years, retiring in 1987. Prior, he worked for W.R. Grace as a foreman and Johnson Bronze as an inspector.He enjoyed woodworking and cabinetry. He also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family.Ron was a member of Shenango Christian Church.He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, R. Gary and Patricia Gibson of Uniontown, Ohio and Gregory L. Gibson of New Castle; one brother, Howard Gibson of Marina, Ca; two sisters, Arlene Stitt of Prescott Valley, Az and Dorothy Price of New Castle, Pa; two grandchildren, Todd Gibson and Tiffany Seoldo; and four great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewayne and Robert Gibson and one sister, Joyce Meyer.Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 17, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. The Rev.
