Ronald L. Johns, 86, of 222 Cecil Ave, passed away at the residence of his son on December 24, 2015 at 12:30pm. Born April 11, 1929, in New Castle, he was the son of Zuriel and Viola Johns. Ronald attended Shenango High School where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. He was retired from the Johnson Bronze and P & LE Railroad. He enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and attending area schools football and basketball games. He especially enjoyed family vacations at the beach, riding bikes, and playing putt-putt. Ronald is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janet Johns of New Castle; a daughter, Betty Ekabutr of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Richard Johns of Edinburg, PA, and Gene Johns of Spring Hill, FL; a sister, Joyce Seagro of Cleaveland, OH; three grandchildren, Gary Johns, Robert Johns, and Sutessa Ukrop; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Ukrop, Lexi Ukrop, and Ameliah Johns. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie Johns of 66 years; and a sister, Eleanor Zeigler. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 5:00pm at the funeral home with the Rev.
