Ronald J. Metz, 75, of Neshannock Township, passed away the early morning of Nov. 27, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born February 12, 1947, in Connellsville, PA., he was the son of John P. and Dorothy (Reshenberg) Metz who preceded him in death.

A 1967 graduate of New Castle High School, Ron served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1965-1971 as a combat engineer.

He worked most of his life as a mechanic until his retirement.

Among his many interests, Ron was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams and enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles, watching the Discovery Channel and MASH. He had a knack for repairing anything.

He is survived by two sons, Chance Metz of Youngstown, Ohio and John (Amy) Metz of New Castle; four daughters, Sherry Metz and Jill Metz both of New Castle, Michele (Mickey) Cook of Wampum and Nichole Cottrill of Youngstown, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Darian Cook, Devyn Flak, Theo Weaver, Adam Weaver, Josh Lomax, Jr., Jazlyn Faircloth, Maia Faircloth, Scarlett Metz, Kara Hallock and Robert Cottrill, III; and five great-grandchildren, Aria Owens, Calvyn Flak, Adriella Flak, Alaya Flak and Unna Davies.

In addition to his parents Ronald is preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Metz.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service at this time.
