Obituary

Ronald J. Olescyski, age 81, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Feb. 13, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born July 18, 1940, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Bigley) Olescyski. On June 2, 1962, he married his beloved wife of 59 years, Carol J. (Armstrong) Olescyski. She survives at home. Ronald was a 1958 graduate of New Castle High School. He went on to further his education, graduating from YSU in 1963, and afterwards earning his graduate degree, from Slippery Rock University. For 34 years, Ronald was a schoolteacher at Neshannock School District, until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially taking walks on the game lands. He also enjoying hunting and fishing and was the original founder of 'Do Fly Fish Club'. He was a member of the Polish Falcons and Trout Unlimited. He was a former member of Second United Presbyterian Church, in New Castle. What gave Ronald the most joy in life, was spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by one daughter, Kim (Chris) Ciambotti of Grove City, PA; one son, Kirk (Rosa) Olescyski of California; two sisters, Sharyn Olescyski and Merry Kay (Anthony) Rozzi, both of New Castle, PA; two grandchildren, Anna Ciambotti and Vincent Ciambotti and two step-grandchildren, Kristen Cantu and Aaron Cantu. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
