Ronald L. Wright, 85 of New Castle passed away on January 29, 2021 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born on February 25, 1935 in New Castle, he was the son of Thomas James and Mabel Mae (Eppinger) Wright. He married Phyllis (Maiella) Wright on March 25, 1960 whom survives at home. He attended First Baptist Church. Ronald served in the United States Army Reserves from 1957 – 1963 as a private 2nd class. He enjoyed working on classic cars and attending car shows. One of his favorite shows he loved to watch was "Counting Cars". He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. He also coached softball. He is survived by his wife and one granddaughter, Jen (Kyle) Unger. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly A. Richardson; four brothers, Dale, Bill, Ray, and John Wright; and one sister, Velma McMillan. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 2, from 5-7pm at R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation, with Rev. John Yergan officiating. CDC guidelines will be in place in regard to wearing masks and social distancing. Due to CDC Pennsylvania guidelines, there may be limited access due to room capacity.
