Rosanna Louise (Burgo) Hege 86, passed to her heavenly home on March 23, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA surrounded by her loving family.
Rosanna was the daughter of Achille (Gill) and Louise (Walker) Burgo. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Darrell J. Hege.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Rosalind (Alan) Hare of Valencia, PA and son Daniel (MerryAnne) Hege of New Castle. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren who were the loves of her life and her reason to keep living. Marissa (Michael) Ferrari, Mackenzie (Amanda) Hare, Adrienne (Ricky) Norco and Daniel (Jordan) Hege, Landon Ferrari, Richard Norco, Carter Ferrari, Levi Hege and Zoe Louise Ferrari.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Richard, who passed at the young age of 17. Rosanna adored him and mourned him deeply for 72 years.
Rosanna is a 1953 Graduate of New Castle High School. She was employed for many years at Dollar Savings Bank in the Bookkeeping/Accounting department. She retired from the banking industry once her son was born to stay home and raise her children and was like a second mother to so many of their friends. She later went on to become a part time caretaker for families in the New Castle area who became like family to her.
Rosanna was a life-long, very active member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Rosanna was a long-standing member and past President of the Lawrence/Mercer County chapter of JDRF fighting for a cause passionate to her heart, one that took her to Capitol Hill to get much needed funding for research. Rosanna loved live musicals, the beach and most of all spending time with her family. She adored her great grandchildren, and it gave her great joy to welcome 5 of them and spend as much time with them as possible. She will be forever missed in the hearts of all who knew her.
Friends and family will be received Sunday March 27 from 1:00-3:00pm with a service to follow at 3pm. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of JDRF or the Lawrence County Humane Society.
Per the family's request, face masks will be required at the viewing and service.
