Rose Marie Emerick, 96, of New Castle, passed away the morning of January 7, 2022, at Avalon Place. Born June 24, 1925, in Alhambra, California, she was the daughter of Rosco A. and Marie (Mangone) Connery. During her childhood she was raised in a masonic home in Covina, CA. Rose was preceded in death on October 10, 1996, by her beloved husband of 53 years, Robert Emerick, whom she married September 14, 1943. A graduate of Covina High School, she was employed with Bell Telephone in Los Angeles, California as an operator. In later years, she was a clerk with Apple Castle for two years. Rose was a member of TOPS and for many years was a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed the Pittsburgh Penguins, reading, knitting and crocheting. She was a member of Independent Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Susan (Chris) Jurkiewicz of New Castle and a son, Eric Emerick, also of New Castle. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dean Connery and one step-brother, Milton Connery. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services.
