Rosemarie Vitale, 88, of New Castle, passed away the morning of October 10, 2016 at Southpoint.
Born January 3, 1928 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Joseph and Rose Urban Mihok.
Rosemarie was married to the late Nunzio P. Vitale. They spent over 50 years together until he preceded her in death on December 25, 1993.
Rosemarie went to work at Shenango Pottery and Universal Rundle Fiberglass division when family needs outweighed her staying at home. She retired after 15 years of service between both companies.
Catholic by faith, Rosemarie was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who loved taking care of her home and family and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her children, Joseph C. (Debra) Vitale, Michael (Patricia) Vitale and Patsy (Deanna) Vitale all of New Castle; six grandchildren, Melissa M. (Matt) McQuiston, John T. (Christine) Stoffick, Jennie Vitale, Aaron (Thea) Vitale, Kayla Vitale, and Amanda Vitale; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Louise Stoffick; three sisters, Elizabeth Francescone, Helen Zentiska, and Theresa Mihok; and two brothers, John Mihok Sr., and Joseph Mihok.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday for St. Vincent de Paul Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
