Roy L. Baldwin, Jr., 85, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2026, surrounded by his family in New Castle, PA. He was born in 1941 to Roy Baldwin, Sr. and Grace "Dolly'' Baldwin Bovard.

Roy was a devoted husband of 60 years to the love of his life, Bonnie; a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; and a devoted servant of Christ. He served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and Awana leader at First Alliance Church. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, where he served in the children's ministry.

Roy was known for his unwavering faith, kindness, and sense of humor. His favorite verse was Psalm 139:23-24.

After graduating from NCHS in 1959, Roy served in the Navy for four years. He worked at the B&B Charcoal Grille, where he earned the nickname "Norton," and later worked for the Penn Central Railroad. He also served as a maintenance supervisor for the Walmo Ed Center and worked as a bus driver and maintenance supervisor for Shenango Area School District before retiring in 2003.

Roy considered his family his greatest blessing and thanked God for them every day. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; two sons, Roy Baldwin Ill (Karen) of Belton, South Carolina, and Scott Baldwin (Sharon) of Columbiana, Ohio; 12 grandchildren: Nicholas and Anna Grace Baldwin of Lincoln, Nebraska; Emily Baldwin and Adrielle Baldwin-Conti (Ritchie) of New Castle, PA; Allison Graham (Ty), Justin Pasco, Logan Ricketts (Isaac), Carter Pasco (Cloey), and Troy and Trent Williamson, all of Columbiana, Ohio; David Baldwin of Struthers, Ohio; and Tanner Pasco (Annestasia) of Marion, Ohio; nine great-grandchildren: Patrick, Ezra, Opal, Teddy, Vayda, Archie, Canaan, Joanna, and Kennedy; and his faithful and loyal companion, Abby, who became his therapy dog.

He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Bupp (Robert) of Beaver Falls, PA.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, father-in-law, and mother-in-law.

The family wishes to extend thanks to Family Home Health caregivers Sam, Jen, and Don, and Brandon from Three Rivers Hospice, for their care and compassion for Roy over the past few months.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A one-hour visitation will take place May 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 984 W. Maitland Lane, New Castle, PA, with Dr. Scott M. Gibson and Rev. Mike Willmer officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to First Baptist Church or City Rescue Mission.
