Russell Dale Freed Jr., 39, of Connellsville, PA passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at his residence.Russell was born December 16, 1972 in New Castle Pa. He is the son of Russell Sr. and Mary Ann Vukovich Freed. He married the former Shannon Pecore on June 16, 1994. She survives living in Greensburg Pa.Russell graduated from Neshannock High School in 1990 and Edinboro University in 1994 before joining the Pennsylvania State Police. He worked out of the Uniontown Barracks in both the Crime Unit and as Assistant Fire Marshall. He liked to fish and golf and was an avid Penguins and Steelers fan, as well as a member of the F.O.P..In addition to his parents, Russell is survived by four children, Haleigh E., Macey A., Cammie R., and Brady W. Freed all of Greensburg. He is also survived by his fiancee' Holly Glover of Connellsville and her two children, Christian and Courtney.Russell was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Fabian and Violet Pavkovich Vukovich and his paternal grand-parents Kenneth and Jean Cleaver Freed.Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Rd., New Castle.A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Camillus Church at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Clinton Cemetery.
