Obituary

Russell C. "Russ" Johnson, 75, of Hoover Road, passed away the morning of November 24, 2014 at Jameson Hospital. Born July 29, 1939 in Lamberton, Pa, he was a son of Russell L. and Catherine Cain Johnson. He was preceded in death in 2002 by his wife of 29 years, Josephine Glorioso Johnson, whom he married in 1973. Russ was a lance corporal in the Marine Corp. during the Vietnam war and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a carpenter with the carpenter's local union. Russ was a member of the Castlewood Rod and Gun Club and the Coachman's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four wheeling. He is survived by one step-daughter, Mary Elaine Fallat of Monroeville; three sisters, Janet Moore of New Castle, Margaret Hardy of Uniontown, Pa, and Jane McKnight of Washington; two brothers, James R. Johnson of Portersville, and Willard A. "Butch" Johnson of MI; and one step-grandson, C.J. Anderson of Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Dorothy Agosta, Bette Swanson and Edith Hedstrom. There will be no calling hours or service. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements are by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
