Russell W. Stoughton, 80, of Slippery Rock, PA passed away the morning of February 26th, 2012 at his residence.Born April 3, 1931 in New Castle, he was a son of Raymond (Lem) J. Stoughton and Iva Livingston Boyd Stoughton.He was a 1949 graduate of Harlansburg High School as Salutatorian and studied electronics at Johnstown Rehab. Center.Russell was a dairy farmer. He also was employed by Sharon Steel as a core sampler and most recently with Philby Coal Company as a heavy equipment operator.He was a member of the Coachman's Club where he worked with the Youth Trails and Muzzle loaders programs. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association, The Northwest Steam and Gas Engine Association in Portersville and Ducks Unlimited.Russell enjoyed hunting, muzzle loading, and shooting. He also had an interest in steam engines and gas engines.He is survived by seven daughters, Gayle Dzemyan and Sally Stoughton of Slippery Rock, Anna Forkey and Karen Robinson of Princeton, Julie Herb of Enon Valley, Holly Cowan of North Carolina and Susan Shoop of New Castle; one son, John W. Stoughton of Slippery Rock; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Priscilla McCoy Stoughton; one sister, Donna Yeager; and one infant grandchild.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28th, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev.
