Ruth E. Ball (88) of New Castle, Pa passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on

December 3, 2024, at Jameson Hospital.

Ruth was born in New Castle, Pa to Myrtle M. Nicholson and Fredrick Eli Woods both of New

Castle, Pa on October 16, 1936. She had 10 brothers and sisters and is survived by two sisters

Lucille and Mae. She graduated from Ne-Ca-Hi in 1954. She was married to Kenneth L. Ball

until his death in May of 1996. Ruth is survived by her three sons Kenneth (Janice) Ball, Jeffrey

Ball, and Brian (Shari) Ball, all of New Castle, Pa, as well as her 8 grandchildren and 4

great-grandchildren.

Ruth was a woman of many talents. She was an eloquent seamstress and milliner, creating

everything from her children's clothing to bridal gowns and perfectly altering countless prom

gowns. Ruth also enjoyed painting ceramics, which she did alongside her husband from their

home for decades. She was an exceptional artist who also enjoyed teaching the community her

masterful skills by opening her home for ceramics and painting classes.

Ruth delighted in caring for her home and family. She always had beautiful flowers and gardens.

She was an exceptional cook and baker and never missed hosting a family holiday. Ruth always

looked forward to Friday night card club with her friends.

A private viewing will be held for the immediate family.
