Ruth E. Bowen, 87, of W. Moody Avenue, passed away the morning of January 27, 2016 at Jameson Hospital. Born January 12, 1929 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Joseph and Cecilia Patterson Masters. She was married to William Bowen, who preceded her in death. Ruth was a member of Cornerstone Community Church. She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Garrett (Bill Dougherty) of Edinburg, Linda (Larry) Hogue and Jennie (Dave) Harlan of New Castle, and Patty (Jim) Davis of Salem, Ohio; one son, Tommy (Sue) Bowen of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Joseph (Colleen) Masters of Salem, Ohio; one sister, Thelma Garrett of New Castle; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William W. Garrett; one sister, Evelyn Walker; and one grandson, Lance Hogue; and one great-grandson Aaron Elijah Beil. In keeping with Ruth's wishes, funeral services will be private. Rev. Joe Lahr of Cornerstone Community Church, and Rev. Jim Davis, son-in-law, will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
