Ruth J. Walker Lewis, 85, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of December 7, 2011 in Windber Hospice in Johnstown, PA.Born September 9, 1926 in New Castle, PA, she was a daughter of Dominick and Anna Ceferano Miller. Ruth married Charles R. Walker on May 15, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1990. She subsequently married George M. Lewis in 1995, and he passed away in February, 2010.She was a graduate of New Castle High School in 1944 and was employed by Winter's mens clothing store as a buyer for over fifty years.Ruth was Protestant.She is survived by a daughter Janet. P Garrett and her husband John of Johnstown, PA; a brother, David Miller of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Mary Pasqualino of New Castle; four grandchildren, Joshua C. Peterman, Colin G. Peterman, Aaron M. Peterman and Elizabeth A. Peterman; and six great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by 6 sisters and an infant brother.Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. John Yergan will officiate. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
