Ruth Ann Orr went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 28, 2012, and will be sadly missed by her loving husband, George A. Orr. She was born on July 27, 1939, in Pittsburgh, PA. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Rae Ann (Kenneth) Zwick of Ellwood City and Valerie Leigh (Daniel) Shuman of Cranberry Twp.; five granddaughters, Amanda (Eric) Young of Cranberry Twp., Samantha (Matthew) Megli of Jacksonville, FL, Tara Miller of Ellwood City, Ashleigh Nadzam and Kiley Shuman of Cranberry Twp.; two grandsons, Matthew (Jessica) Wheeler of New Castle and Lance Wheeler of Pulaski; nine great grandchildren, DaLynn Rose Young, Bree Lynn Young, David Matthew Wheeler, Caleb Raymond Wheeler, Logen Michael Wheeler, Emmalyn Jane Megli, Aaydin Marcus Megli, Cecilia Faith Megli, Liam Charles Wheeler and Scarlet Ruth Wheeler, whom is expected to be born any day; one brother, Theodore L. (Shirley) Truver of Horsham, PA; and several nieces and nephews.Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Homer T. and Velma I.(Crummy) Truver; a brother, Raymond L. Truver; two sisters, Elmira Louise Truver and Janet E. Winkler; and two nephews, Russell Smith and Paul Smith, Jr.Ruth Ann was retired from New Castle Orthopedic Associates and was a past-president of the Pennsylvania Society of Medical Assistants. She was active in Eastern Star, New Castle Chapter #105, having served as Worthy Matron twice; on the board for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, New Castle Assembly #1; and in New Castle Builders Chapter Order of DeMolay. She was involved with the New Castle Playhouse, served as Sunday School Superintendent and on the Church Council, and was lay leader for many years at Epworth United Methodist Church. She was also Unit Commissioner for Boy Scout Troop 762 at her church and also on the District Board of King Beaver District BSA. She also received the District Award of Merit, the Silver Beaver and the Torch Award.Friends will be received at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Wilmington Rd., Tuesday evening, July 31, 2012, from 5-8 pm and Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 10:00 AM at Epworth United Methodist Church. The Rev. Thom Scott will officiate. Burial will take place in Twin Valley Cemetery, Delmont, PA.Memorial contributions may be sent to Epworth United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, the New Castle Playhouse or the Boy Scouts of America.
