Ruth F. Seymour, 92, of New Castle, went to be with her Lord the morning of April 4, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Born July 22, 1923 in Sidney, NY, she was the daughter of Lynn J. and Sarah Seeley Freiberger.
She was preceded in death on February 18, 2000 by her loving husband of 49 years, Dr. David Seymour, whom she married September 2, 1950.
After her high school graduation in Sidney, New York, she attended three years of Bible school at Practical Bible College and another three years of nursing school in Binghamton, New York to receive her registered nursing degree.
Ruth, alongside her husband "Dr. Dave", together served their Lord faithfully for 32 years in Chad, Africa with the Baptist Mid-Missions. From 1954 until their retirement in 1988, Ruth used her nursing degree in assisting her husband as a medical missionary.
Ruth grew up attending her home church of Grace Baptist Church in Binghamton, New York and later was a member of First Baptist Church in New Castle. Her love for the Lord was evidenced by all who knew her.
Teaching sewing classes and listening to southern gospel music were a few of the things Ruth enjoyed, however, spending time with her family was what she treasured most.
She is survived by her three sons, Rev. D. Bruce (Connie) Seymour of Anaheim, CA, Jon A. (Shirley) Seymour of New Castle, and Mark R. (Debbie) Seymour of Winston-Salem, NC; a sister-in-law, Patricia Freiberger of Ocala, FL; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Paulina Freiberger; one brother, Richard Freiberger; and a great-granddaughter, Elise.
