Ruth V. Stewart, 94, formerly of Mt. Jackson Road, passed away the morning of October 10, 2013 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born December 19, 1918 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Arthur B. and Rebecca Charles McClain. She was preceded in death on July 10, 1991 by her husband of 55 years, Phillip S. Stewart, whom she married June 11, 1936. Ruth was a homemaker and attended First Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Joseph) Dlutowski of Valencia, PA, and Phyllis (James) Paden of New Castle; two brothers, Arthur B. McClain of California, and Fred McClain of Florida; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Leonard of Ohio, and Dorothy Nastal of New Castle; 8 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Mayton; two brothers, Frank and Walt McClain; a sister, Betty Webb; and three grandchildren, Scott Paden, Justin Dlutowski, and Leslie Kleiner. At Ruth's request, there will be no calling hours or service. Burial will be in Sylvania Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
