Ryne William Hiler, 23, of 4 Buena Vista Way, New Castle, passed away suddenly on May 4, 2014 in Norfolk, Virginia.Born November 15, 1990 in Portsmouth, Virginia, he was a son of William Everett Hiler, III and Jenifer Atkinson Hiler Miller. Ryne is survived by his parents as well as his step-mother, Regina Hiler of Ellwood City, and step-father, Thomas Miller of New Castle.Ryne is also survived by his wife, Shari Zahorchak Hiler, whom he married on November 12, 2012, and his daughter, Noula Hiler of New Castle.After his 2009 graduation from Lawrence County Career and Technical Center, he joined the United States Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Enterprise. He completed one tour of duty in Afghanistan. Ryne was enrolled at Youngstown State University where he planned to pursue an education in Environmental Studies.Among his many interests, Ryne enjoyed playing computer games, motorcycles, archery and hunting. He was a member of a death metal band, playing bass guitar.The pride of his life was his daughter Noula, whom he loved spending time with.In addition to his parents, wife and daughter, he is survived by one sister, Mikenzie Hiler of New Castle; a brother-in-law, Jake Zahorchak; one step-sister, Fawn Miller of Gainsville, FL; three step-brothers, Vincent Romanio of Ellwood City, Thomas Miller of Gainsville, FL, and Layton Miller of Stoneboro, PA; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gary and Susan Zahorchak of New Castle; grandparents William and Frances Hiler, Jr. of New Castle, and Cindy and Gary McCann of New Castle; grandfather, Tom Atkinson; and his great-grandmother, Helen Hiler, of New Castle.Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Chris Weichman.Memorial contributions are being established for his daughter, Noula Hiler, and mailed to the First Choice Credit Union, 2209 W. State Street, New Castle, PA 16101, or any other First Choice Credit Union office in New Castle.
