Obituary

Samuel 'Sam' William Linton, age 74, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of April 21, 2022, at the Avalon Place, in New Castle. Born Aug. 20, 1947, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Floyd and Hazel (Heim) Linton. On Aug. 14, 1993, he married his beloved wife of 28 years, Kathy (Giermanski) Linton. She survives at home. Sam was a graduate of Mohawk High School. He went on to join the United States Navy, where he faithfully served his country. He earned his associate degree from Youngstown State University. For several years, Sam was employed by the U.S. Postal Service, as the maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Johnson Club, Croatian Club, KP Club, Mahoning Sportsman Club, and the Masons. He enjoyed trapshooting, farming, hunting, fishing, cards, and golf. Sam loved traveling in his RV and riding his Harley Davidson. What gave Sam the most joy in life, was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Riley. In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by one son, Wesley (Kristin) Bok, of New Castle, PA; one daughter, Amy Crews (Tom Owoc) of New Castle, PA; one sister, Shirley Linton of Girard, OH; granddaughter Riley Crews of New Castle, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held. A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. The family would like to thank the Avalon Nursing Home for their care and compassion they have shown to Sam, and their entire family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
