Sandra Lee Gibas, age 82, of New Castle, passed away the evening of Nov. 27, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born Nov. 10, 1942, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Hazel (Cullim) Davis.

On May 20, 1995, she married her beloved husband of 19 years, Charles L. Gibas. He preceded her in death in 2014.

Sandy was a graduate of Ne-Ca-Hi. She then went on to earn her degree in cosmetology. She worked in an administrative role, employed by Golf Cart Supply. Sandy also spent time working at the Red Cross where she worked as the director of organizing blood drives. She then went on to become a house parent for PARC. She had a fulfilling and rewarding career.

Camping, fishing, cooking for friends and family, were some of her loved hobbies. Sandy was very artistic, making many crafts, throughout her lifetime. What gave her the most joy in life were her cats, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Kings Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include son, Tim (Denise) Moore of Mohawk, PA, stepson, Joe Gibas; daughter Kimber Moore of New Castle, PA; sister, Shareen Potter of West Virginia; five grandchildren, Hunter Moore, Erika Pastorius, Amanda Craven, Andrew Sankey, and Maria Gibas; five great-grandchildren, Kherington, Jaxson, Christopher, Evan, and Adam; niece, Jackie Steele; and her beloved cat, "Yoda".

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
