Sandra L. Hilton, 72, of 1116 S. Mercer St, New Castle, passed away at her residence the morning of March 12, 2013.Born Nov. 19, 1940 in Butler, she was the daughter of Otis J. and Violet L. Mortimer Confer. She married Edward E. Hilton, Jr. on Dec. 3, 1959. Sandra attended New Castle High School. In 1972 she was the owner of the Hoagie-Taco Hut in New Castle. She also catered at various establishments in the area and was a party planner. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, making afghans and camping. She was a member of the Swan's in Beaver County. Sandra was a member of First Christian Church. In addition her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Lee Hudson of Midland, PA, and Joanne and Mick Thorstenson of Marco Island, FL; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edward E. Hilton III and wife, Dawn of Beaver, PA and Russell O. Hilton of New Castle; two sisters, Arnetta Henderson and Ota Carmody, both of Mexico Beach, FL; a brother-in-law, Thomas Hilton of New Castle; her close friend, Nell Lovaglio of New Castle; nine grandchildren; and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Emma Culbertson and Leona Confer. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. The Rev. Ty Sabella will officiate.
