Sara Mae Sally Alborn, age 100, formerly of Moffatt Road, passed away the morning of December 6, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born May 4, 1916 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Alexander Harnish and Ora Myrtle Douglass Cameron. Sally was preceded in death on May 16, 1996 by her husband, Harold E. Alborn. She was a graduate of Harlansburg High School and worked at the lunch counter at the former New Castle Drug Store. She later was a cook at B&B Charcoal Grill. She was an active member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church where she attended the Dorcas Society and the Missionary Society. She was also a board member of Wimodausis. Surviving are two daughters, Joann Marshall of Mansfield, Ohio and Betty Alborn of New Castle; 3 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Milton, Harold and Home Cameron; and 1 sister, Ora Sickafuse. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Friday at 1:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Stringer officiating. Burial will be in Neshannock U.P. Cemetery.
