Scharlene L. Pizor, 80, of New Castle, passed away the morning of December 23, 2021, at her residence with her family at her side. Born July 19, 1941, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Clair and Gladys (Young) Rhodes. She is survived by her husband, James H. Pizor. Scharlene was employed by the former Troutman's department store where she was the head of the cosmetic and jewelry departments. After their closing, she became a clerk with Big Lots in New Castle. Among her many interests, she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, painting, gardening and ceramics. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Veronica Pizor and one grandson, Mark J. Pizor. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald J. Pizor; two brothers; and one sister. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 4:00 with the Rev. Frederick H. Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
