Shirley R. Cohen, 78, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of November 5, 2013 in Jameson Hospital. Born April 5, 1935 in New Castle, she was a daughter of James and Lenora Harper Campbell.She was preceded in death in 1973 by her husband, Sheldon Cohen, whom she married August 6, 1961. Shirley was a housekeeper for Westminster College. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing slots, but most important was being with her family. She is survived by one daughter, Beth Cohen of New Castle; one son, David Cohen of New Wilmington; one brother, Robert Campbell of New Wilmington; and one sister, Carol McFarland of Laconia, NH; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A service will immediately follow visitation Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Chaplain Patricia Sawaya. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
