Shirley Jean Cover, age 90, of New Castle, PA, passed away the afternoon of March 2, 2025, at The Addison of Clen-Moore Place.

Born July 12, 1934, in Pulaski Twp., she was the daughter of the late Orville D. and Sarah E. (Matthews) Hunt.

She was married to Lewis M. Cover, who preceded her in death on May 26, 2021.

Shirley was a graduate of Union High School. She enjoyed being outdoors, taking walks and baking. She was a former member of Harbor United Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one stepdaughter, Darleen (Ron) Rizzo, of New Castle, PA; one stepson, Larry L. (Shirley) Cover of El Dorado Hills, CA; and several nieces and nephews; Cindy (Bill) Allen, Gary (Brynna)Hunt, James (Lisa), Debbie (Greg) Kwolek, Tracy (David) McCart, Jeffrey Wonsiecki, and Kathy Hunt. She is also survived by her former neighbors who were more like her family: Kathy Barker Dagres, Kerry Barker Jones and Kim (Barker) DeFonso.

Along with her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Marvin and James Hunt, and two sisters, Martha Hunt and Anna Mae Wonsiecki and a niece, Phyllis Lane (Tom).

In keeping with her wishes there will be no visitation or services.

Shirley's family would also like to thank the employees of Clen-Moore Place, where she spent her last years, for the loving and compassionate care that they showed to Shirley as well as the caring staff of Anova Hospice.
