Shirley Jean D'Aurio, 61, of 2231 Harlansburg Road, New Castle, passed away the evening of August 8, 2010 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.Born August 30, 1948 in Oak Cliff, Texas, she was a daughter of Cecil and Hannah Finley Haws. Her mother survives in New Castle. She married John Lee D'Aurio on December 19, 1964.She was a graduate of New Castle High School and a homemaker.Shirley was a member of the South Hills Athletic Club and TOPS. Among her interests were taking pictures and scrapbooking.She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church where she enjoyed working in the nursery.In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Beth Ann and Jeff Knight and Jessica Marie and Ryan Wilcox of New Castle; one son and daughter-in-law, John Lee and Chris D'Aurio III of New Castle; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Ann Haines, Judy and Charles Tillia and Becky and John Cameron all of New Castle and Nancy and Ken Oakes of Royce City, TX; and fourteen grandchildren.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Harmony Baptist Church, Ellwood Road, New Castle. Rev. James Hockenberry will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Baptist Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
