SHIRLEY MARIE (ALLGIER) GIBSON, born July 26, 1922, passed into her heavenly Father's loving care on June 25, 2021, at Carriage Manor of New Castle, PA, under Three Rivers Nurses Hospice Care. Preceded in death by infant son, David Andrew (1963); parents, Bessie (Andrews 1982) and William C. Allgier (1979); son-in-law, Elmer Bigley (1992), sisters Geraldine (Geri) Rciznek (1987) and Phyllis Coles (2003); and husband Joseph Gale Gibson (2004), she is survived by daughters, Judith Ann Bigley (NC-PA) and Patricia Sue McBurney (NC-PA), and son, Joseph William and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Gibson of Akron, OH; granddaughter, Abigail McBurney (NC-PA) and grandson, Seth McBurney of Pittsburgh; nieces, Phyllis Westlake (FL), Perri O'Toole, (PA) Betsy Smith (PA), and nephew, Paul Coles (TN); cousin, Gertrude Gapp. of S. Dakota, age 102, and Gibson nieces and nephews: Lee, Cheryl, Elaine, David, Debbie, Nancy, Melinda, Bobbie, Ray, and Randi, and sister-in-law, Rachel. Cremation has taken place with services provided by R. Cunning-ham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., New Castle, PA 16105. Interment in the church cemetery is at 12 noon on Saturday, July 10, 2021, followed by a Celebration of Life Service, led by Pastor Bobby Griffith, at Westfield Presbyterian Church, 1363 Mt. Jackson Rd, New Castle PA 16102 (724-667-7045), then followed by a luncheon reception in Fellowship Hall to greet the family. Service will be on youtube.com. "Mum" as she was affectionately known, fulfilled her life as a true helpmate and partner with husband, Gale, singing in church choirs in PA & FL; in their ventures as landlords; selling goods at their grocery store; selling plants from their greenhouse; flying to Hawaii; RVing to Alaska; and being snowbirds in St. Petersburg, FL, for many years. In addition , she was a girlscout; she married Gale Thursday, January 1, 1942; worked at Shenango Pottery, joined the church in 1944; gave birth to Judy in late 1942, Joe in 1947, Patty in 1952; became an ordained Deacon in 1966, ran for Justice of the Peace in Lawrence County, District 3-2 PA, and operated the dairy bar next to the former Lusk Grocery Store.
