Shirley Ann Jones, age 60, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, passed away at her residence the morning of December 8, 2016. Born October 15, 1956 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Paul R. and Shirley M. Jones. She was a graduate of Lawrence County Vo-Tech and was employed with Huntington Bank. Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to shop, read, and bake cookies with her grandchildren. She was a member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Shirley is survived by her daughter, Amber Lea Shelar of Waxhaw, NC; two sisters, Sharon Elliott of Bellevue, Nebraska and Paula Thompson of New Castle; and 4 grandchildren, Trent, Gavin, Londyn and Drew Shelar. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Mary Sarbo, Raymond, Verna and Ethel Jones. There will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. The Rev. Michael Elliott and Rev. Randy Stringer will be officiating.
