Shirley M. Lutz, 79, of Meadowview Blvd., New Castle, passed away the morning of April 5, 2010 in UPMC Passavant, Pittsburgh.Born on July 14, 1930 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Herbert S. and Jennie Laitinen McNicholas.She married Donald S. Lutz on June 19, 1948. He survives in New Castle. Shirley was a 1948 New Castle High School graduate. She was a retail clerk for Richman Brothers and Weingartner Florist.Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church. She held many numerous church positions and she was active in Sparklers.In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon L. and Harold Glenn of Slippery Rock, Debra J. and Richard Johnson of Duluth, MN, Lori A. and Brian Kauffman of New Castle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward D. and Marlane Lutz of New Castle, Philip R. and Kathy Lutz of New London, MN; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Jean McNicholas of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; one sister-in-law, Mary McNicholas of New Castle; fourteen grandchildren, Brad Glenn, Jodi and Jeff Miller, Brandon and Amamda Lutz, Jeremy and Amy Lutz, Lance Lutz and his fiance Leah Kuba, Andy and Melissa Lutz, Emily and Brent Wulff, David and Stephanie Lutz, Matthew, Eric and Hannah Johnson, Briana, Bryce and Chelsea Kauffman, and six great grandchildren, Landon and Autumn Miller, Taylor Lutz, Alivia and Tucker Wulff and Daniel Lutz.She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Herbert McNicholas, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Beth Ann Glenn.Visitation will be on Thursday, April 8, 2010, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Rd., and Friday, April 9, 2010, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 984 W. Maitland Lane, New Castle.Services will be on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Wells and Rev. John Yergan officiating.
