Shirley Mae Boyd Mort, 92, of Springwell Senior Living Community, Baltimore, MD, passed away on May 15, 2015. She was a dedicated homemaker, beloved wife for 72 years to Robert Leslie Mort and devoted mother of Robert L. Mort, Jr. (Robbin) of Clayton, NC, Gretchen M. Greer of Tunbridge, VT, Blair B. Mort (Betsy) of Huntington, WV and Heidi P. Mort-Green (Brian) of Baltimore, MD; dear sister of Nancy J. Boyd of New Castle, PA, and the late Barbara A. Windfield. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Shirley was born on January 26, 1923 to the late Joseph S. and Mildred Boyd. She was a 1941 graduate of New Castle High School. Mrs. Mort was a lover of all animals including her cherished dogs. Shirley will be missed greatly by her family and friends to whom she meant so much. The family will receive friends at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, New Castle, PA from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. Friday and 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. on Saturday. A funeral service will be held immediately following. Rev. John Yergan will officiate. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens, New Castle, PA.
