Shirley Jane Salomon, age 88, of New Castle, passed away the morning of September 8, 2024, at Haven Convalescent Home.

Born April 3, 1936, in Beaver Falls, PA she was the daughter of John and Virginia (McCracken) Wright.

A New Castle High School graduate, Shirley was employed as clerk with the former Health Hut in New Castle for twenty years. Among her interests she enjoyed drawing and painting, but most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheryl (Dr. Ron) Grego of New Castle; three sons, Richard A. Salomon and Scott B. (Rhonda) Salomon of New Castle and John G. (Sue) Salomon of Ellwood City; two sisters, Minnie Price of California and Beverly Rzicznek of Warren, PA; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and her former husband, Richard G. Salomon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Wright.

Visitation will be held on Thurs. Sept. 12th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Calvary Independent Church, 424 E. Moody Avenue, New Castle, PA 16105.

A Memorial Service will take place, at the church, immediately following visitation at 7:00 PM, with Pastor John Yergan officiating.

Burial will be in Fair Oaks Cemetery.
