Shirley A. Williams, age 74, of Hermitage, PA, formerly of Brookshire Drive, New Castle, PA, passed away the afternoon of April 21, 2022, at her residence. Born June 26, 1947, in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Neal and Ida Mae (Cowmeadow) Williams. Shirley was a 1965 graduate of New Castle High School. She went on to earn her teaching degree from Slippery Rock University. For 30 years, Shirley was a teacher at Salem School District, in Salem, Ohio. What gave Shirley the most joy in life, was spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Shirley is survived by one sister, Verna Wilcox, of New Castle, PA; niece Dr. Heather (Dr. Jay) Porter; nephews, Adam (Erica) Wilcox, Linton (Marcelyn) Bupp, Shawn (Donna) Bupp; great nieces, Emma Porter, Katie Bupp, Sarah Bupp, Rachel Bupp, and Mariah Bupp; and great nephews, Liam Porter, Tyler Wilcox, Max Wilcox, and Parker Wilcox. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by sister, Sandra Bupp, half-brother, Neal Williams, Jr., two brothers-in-law, Larry Wilcox and Linton Bupp. Visitation will be held on Sunday April 24th, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington, Rd., New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 3:00 PM with Rev. Stephen Baker, officiating.
