Sol R. Moldover, 98, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 10, 2017 in Sarasota. Born March 21, 1919 in Russia, he was the son of Samuel and Esther Zahm Moldover. He was preceded in death on March 17, 2002 by his beloved wife of 58 years, Evelyn Beck Moldover, whom he married on July 11, 1943. Sol served with the Jewish War Veterans during WWII. He was the Co-owner of Majestic Wallpaper and Paint Company in New Castle for 34 years. He was a member of the 32nd Degree Masons, the American Legion and the BPOE Elks Club #69. He is survived by two nieces, Andrea Moldover and Susan (Dan) Aubel; one great niece, Faith (Jesse) DAmico; great-great niece and nephew, River and Saige; and a close friend, Richard Williams, all of Sarasota. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Moldover and Richard Moldover, and one brother, Sanford Moldover. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, with a service at 11:00. Rabbi Howie Stein will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Israel Cemetery.
