Stanley David Cohen, 74, of New Castle, passed away at his residence the morning of June 30, 2021. Born on October 6, 1946, at Jameson Hospital in New Castle, Pa. he was the son of Harry (Chick) and Sarah Cohen, who have both preceded him in death. He has two surviving siblings, William G, of Pittsburgh, and Debra J., also in Pittsburgh. He is also survived by Johnelle Hook and his son, Benjamin Houk, of Hermitage, Pa and his beloved cat "Monkey" who has thankfully already been adopted. In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by another brother, Roger J. Cohen. Mr. Cohen graduated from New Castle High School in 1964. He held a B.A. in History from Western Reserve (Case Western) University. He worked for many years at Castle Brand Inc, which was a family business. He eventually changed careers and obtained licenses as a stockbroker and an insurance agent. Mr. Cohen was an active member and supporter of the Lawrence County Historical Society. He was an avid photographer, as well as an avid animal lover. Mr. Cohen also loved to fish. Additionally, he maintained long-term recovery, and was an active member in AA. A graveside service will take place on Monday, July 5th at 1:00 pm at Temple Hadar Israel, in New Castle, PA, with Rabbi Howie Stein officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
