Stewart "Vince" Patton, 82, of 3847 Mattthews Road, Edinburg, passed away the morning of June 27, 2011 at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.Born July 23, 1928 in Edinburg, he was a son of Stewart S. and Mary Cecilia Knoll Patton.Vince married Doris J. Hamill on September 8, 1956. She survives in Edinburg.He was a 1946 graduate of Union High School and also a graduate of the New Castle School of Trades.He was in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954-1956.Vince was employed for thirty seven years as a service manager and mechanic with International Harvester until their closing, and worked in sales with OTEC, Ohio Tractor and Equipment Company until his retirement in 1994.He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening, his dog Buddy, and spending time with his grandchildren.In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Linda J. and Richard Show of Pulaski and Kathleen Granger of North Lima, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Cyndee Patton of Edinburg; one brother, Walter and wife Eleanor Patton of Edinburg; one sister, Ruth and husband Dave Shields of New Wilmington; seven grandchildren, Brian Show, Joshua Show, Kalie Clarke, Shayna Wiery, Cameron Clarke, Jared Patton and Jason Patton; two great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph Patton.Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Andrew Jillson will officiate.
