Susan Lynn
Aiken
Jan 1, 1957 — Jul 2, 2024
Susan Lynn Aiken, age 67, of South Amherst, Ohio passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 2, 2024. Susan was born on January 1, 1957, in New Castle, PA. Most of her early years were spent in Newark, Delaware where she attended and graduated from Meadowood School. After moving to Ohio in 1986, Sue worked at Murray Ridge Center in Elyria for 33 years. She was very dedicated to her job and proud of all the accomplishments she made there. Susan was a member of St. Joseph Church in Amherst, Ohio.
Sue sincerely touched the lives of so many people and made a friend with everyone she met. Sue loved dancing, coloring, swimming and watching game shows. Her happiest times were spent traveling to visit family and go on vacations. Sue knew how to light up a room with her infectious smile and contagious laugh. She was truly an angel on earth.
Survivors include her loving mother, Regina Aiken, whom Susie resided with for 67 years. Sisters include Sherrie Richards of Inverness, Florida, Pam Miller (Steve Miller) of Erie, PA and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Merle Aiken.
The family would like to thank all those who played an important role in Susie's life. We would especially like to thank Cleveland Hospice staff for their wonderful compassionate care for Sue.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 8, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 124 N. Beaver Street, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cleveland Clinic Hospice, 6801 Brecksville #10, Cleveland, OH, 44131, or charity of donor's choice.
