Susie DiAnn Maggie, 75, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord the evening of September 4, 2011 at Golden Hill Nursing Home surrounded by her loving husband and devoted family.Susie was born in New Castle on March 5, 1936 to the late Frank and Mary Thompson Park. She married Joseph Maggie, Jr. on June 28, 1952. He survives. Mrs. Maggie spent her time as a devoted homemaker and took great pride in raising and caring for her three children and later her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Susie was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Sue and Nick Daltorio; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Joseph Maggie III and Donna L. Maggie and Ronnie W. and Rosemary Maggie all of New Castle; one brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Rose Park of Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren, Cheryl Sue Griffith and husband James, Joseph Maggie IV and wife Ashley, Ronnie W. Maggie Jr. and wife Megan, Karla Sue Brest and Mark E. Brest Jr. and 4 great grandchildren, James W. Griffith, Jr. and Isabella A., Avery K., and Aubrey J. Maggie.Mrs. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Frank and Larry Park.Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd.Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 at noon at the funeral home. The Rev. Dennis Bupp will officiate. Burial will be in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
