Sylvia S. Koski, 94, formerly of 107 West Leasure Avenue, New Castle passed away the morning of August 21, 2016 at UPMC Jameson emergency room. Born on August 8, 1922 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Charles and Lydia Paajanen Koski. A 1941 graduate of Shenango High School, she then retired from First Federal Savings and Loan Association after twenty-five years. She was a past member of the New Castle Business and Professional Women's Club, a member of the New Castle Music Club and a Red Cross volunteer. As a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, she directed the choir for fifteen years. Preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters; two half brothers and one half sister. Surviving her are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 11 AM Friday at the funeral home with Rev. David Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in Sylvia's name to R.
