Theresa (Farone) Sweetapple, age 84 of New Castle, let go of her daughter's hand and went to be with the Lord the morning of June 13, 2020 at her residence. Born Dec. 1, 1935 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late James and Carrie (Fava) Farone. In May of 2004, she married her beloved husband, Edward Sweetapple. He survives at home. Theresa was a custodian at Union High School for 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Sweetapple loved traveling and going on tour bus trips. Theresa had a strong faith in the Lord and was a dedicated member of New Hope Wesleyan Church. Along with her husband, Edward, survivors include one daughter, Carrie (Terry) Goff of New Castle; three sons, Phillip M. (Tammy) Bartolone of New Castle, Frank J. Bartolone of New Castle, Anthony J. (Susan) Bartolone of Enon Valley; one sister, Immaculate Hamilton of Pulaski; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, George, Phillip, James Jr., Joseph & Anthony Farone; 1 sister, Louise Williams, and her stepmother, Marietta Farone. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-6PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary DeWitt officiating. Burial will be at Castle View Cemetery.
