Thomas French, 89, passed away the morning of Jan. 23, 2010, in Lawrence County Gericare.Born Aug. 22, 1920, in New Castle, he was the son of William B. and Eleanor Francis French.He married Dorothy J. McConnell on Nov. 22, 1946. She preceded him in death.Thomas worked for LTV Steel and a hot saw operator.He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.Thomas enjoyed going to yard sales, coupon shopping, and playing pool.Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Jr. and Karen French.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, James A. French; and two sisters, Louise Cearfoss, and Belle French.Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at the R.
