Thomas H. Kysor, age 95 of Union City, PA, passed away on February 4, 2019 at Erie Medical Center, in Erie, PA.
Born Sept. 29, 1923 in Cuyahoga Falls, OH., he was the son to Olls James and Hattie (Holbert) Kysor. He married Mary (Koprivnak) Kysor on January 10, 1972. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2013.
Mr. Kysor was a World War II Veteran. Shortly after serving his county, he graduated from Thiel College in 1950. Thomas enjoyed his work as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, supervisor and program administrator. He was also the owner and operator of Pinewoods Inn, in Union City.
Thomas was a life member of National Rehabilitation Association, American Legion New Castle Post #343, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Cherry Valley and Disabled American Veterans; Lawrence County Chapter. He was a member of 40 & 8, Fraternal Order of Eagles, did regular volunteer work at the Butler VAMC, and was on the advisory board of Butler County, Area Agency on Aging since 1995. Thomas especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Thomas is survived by son; Thomas (Kathy) Kysor of Wilmington, DE., daughter; Tamara (John) Kearney of Coventry, CT., step-daughter; Sally (Olin) Seidler , one sister; Patsy A. Nichols of Corry, PA., grandchildren; Scott Seidler of Union City, PA., Meagan (Dylan) Kearney of Vernon, DE., and Brian Kearney of Burlington, VT., great granddaughter; Stacie Seidler, great grandson; Derrick Seidler and great -great grandson; Mason Thomas.
Along with his parents and wife, Mary, Thomas is preceded in death by brothers; James, Darrell, Malcolm and John H. Kysor, and one sister; Lillian Fay.
Visitation will be held on Thursday Feb. 7th from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. An Honor Guard service will take place immediately following visitation at 1:00 PM where military rites will be given and the Rev. Fredrick H. Gilbert, will be officiating.
Burial will be at Rootville Cemetery.
