Thomas F. Wellman, age 77, of New Castle, passed away July 1, 2025, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born February 19, 1948, he was the son of Samuel and Lorraine (Settle) Wellman. He was preceded in death earlier this year on January 30, 2025, by his wife of 54 years, Judith A. (Fetterman) Wellman, whom he married March 14, 1970.

After attending New Castle High School, Tom served his country in the Navy as a seaman onboard the battleship USS New Jersey during the Vietnam War.

He was formerly employed with Universal Rundle as a caster, sprayer and fiberglass finaler. He later gained employment with West Penn Printing as an operator until his retirement.

Tom held memberships with the Eintracht Club where he served as the vice president, and the VFW #267 of Bessemer where he was the former commander. Among his interests, he enjoyed golf, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his son, Thomas F. (Angela) Wellman, II of New Castle and one sister, Deborah Boron of New Castle.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Wayne Wellman, William Glenn Wellman, and Samuel J. Wellman.
